About the Role:
WTW is launching a Graduate Program for 2025 aimed at aspiring Actuarial Analysts within its Retirement Business division. This program is available across multiple locations, offering an opportunity for early-career professionals to develop their skills and gain exposure to various aspects of Retirement Valuation processing. This role is ideal for those looking to build a career in actuarial science, particularly within the retirement and benefits sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting for Employee Benefits:
- Conduct actuarial valuations in line with Indian and International accounting standards, focusing on benefits such as Gratuity, Leave, Long-term awards, Provident Fund, and Pension.
- The role offers the potential to work on retirement-related projects not only in India but also across Asia and Australasia. This international exposure will allow you to develop a broader understanding of retirement benefits in different regions.
- Plan Design:
- Advise companies on the design of employee retirement plans, considering factors like future cost implications.
- Model these impacts and assist in building business cases using industry market benchmarking to ensure that the retirement plans are competitive and sustainable.
- Retirement Advisory Services:
- Provide consulting advice to companies on governance and best practices in administering their retirement plans.
- Engage in due diligence processes in Merger & Acquisition scenarios to ensure that retirement plans are properly managed and integrated.
Performance Objectives:
- Clients:
- In this role, you will be involved in every stage of the actuarial process, from validating data provided by clients to calculating liabilities and ultimately reporting the results through detailed actuarial reports.
- You will prepare data validation and reconciliation reports, create detailed data queries, and ensure that all information is accurate and complete before sending it to reviewers.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the relevant Indian and International accounting standards and apply this knowledge to your daily tasks.
- You will also have the opportunity to support special projects, both actuarial and non-actuarial, which involve intensive data analytics and client communication.
- Deliver work according to project deadlines, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Learn from and support experienced Associates who will guide you in project management, including creating project plans, monitoring progress against deadlines and budgets, and increasing client interaction.
- Contribute to regular status meetings and ensure clear and effective communication within the team.
- Excellence:
- Collaborate with colleagues and consultants to identify initial data needs, gather and examine client information, and perform any follow-up work required to complete data sets.
- Develop a deep understanding of retirement benefit plans and the broader industry. Become familiar with the data, information, and processes required for actuarial valuation activities.
- Seek and engage in key learning and development opportunities to enhance your skills and maintain steady progress through actuarial exams.
- Prepare first drafts of reports for review by Senior Analysts or Consultants, ensuring that your work adheres to WTW’s Professional Excellence quality model.
- Effectively manage your time across multiple assignments, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard and within the allotted time frame.
- People:
- Build strong internal relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrate confidence and ease when interacting with clients and colleagues at all levels.
