Role Overview:
As an Engineering Apprentice within the NEBU (Network, Endpoint, and Business Unit) team, you will support the implementation and maintenance of data security measures to safeguard the company’s assets and sensitive information. This role involves monitoring and analyzing security events and incidents to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities. You will also contribute to the development and execution of security policies, procedures, and best practices. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure security requirements are embedded within all systems and processes. Additionally, you will participate in regular security assessments and audits to verify compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Your role will include assisting in incident response activities, such as the investigation, containment, and resolution of security incidents. Keeping abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and trends in data security will be vital to your success in this position.An Engineering Apprentice assists in implementing data security measures, monitors threats, supports incident response, and collaborates on security policies, gaining hands-on experience in cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of data security measures to protect company assets and sensitive information.
- Monitor and analyze security events and incidents to detect potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Participate in the creation and execution of security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that security requirements are integrated into systems and processes.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Support incident response efforts, including the investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
- Stay informed about emerging threats, technologies, and trends in the field of data security.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A solid understanding of basic cybersecurity principles and concepts.
- Familiarity with networking protocols, operating systems, and cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of common security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
